Summary:Interactive Voice Response (IVR) systems enable pharmacy customers to phone in refill requests without intervention of the pharmacist or other members of the pharmacy staff.

Product Overview:
  • The QS/1 interface, combined with a compatible Interactive Voice Response system, increases productivity, expands store hours, streamlines workflow, improves patient care,reduces customer wait times, frees pharmacists for value-added services, and increases profits.
  • When patients call the pharmacy on the designated phone number(s) assigned to the IVR system, they can input prescription numbers to be refilled using a Touch-Tone phone. The IVR system transmits the recorded prescription information to the QS/1 RxCare Plus system. The QS/1 system then ensures that prescription numbers are valid, and patients are informed when refills require authorization from their physician (no refills remaining, prescription has expired, or refilling too soon).
  • If problems require contacting the physician, the patient can request that the pharmacist contact the physician or the patient can indicate that he or she will contact the physician. The option to speak with someone in the pharmacy is also available.
  • When the prescriptions have been validated, the QS/1system indicates on the Prescription Processing screen that IVR prescription requests have been received. The pharmacist then views the prescriptions by accessing the IVR Mail Scan window and selects prescriptions for dispensing.
