To provide its customers with an affordable, quiet printer that does not occupy much counter space, QS/1 has added an interface to a Zebra thermal printer to complement its workflow module.
Sonny Anderson, director of systems and technology for QS/1, says that by partnering with Zebra, "We are offering our customers the speed and quality of thermal printing while decreasing the pharmacy's printing costs."
QS/1 selected the Zebra 3844-Z printer, which prints up to a four-inch-wide label at 300 dots-per-inch, at a speed of four inches per second. It can handle high-quality composite graphics, two-dimensional bar codes and fine text. Because of the fewer moving parts, Anderson says, these printers reduce paper jams. Also, the thermal printer paper available to QS/1 accounts has an ultraviolet inhibitor to protect against fading and discoloration. |
